GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION |
MAIN PURPOSE:
The District Field Assistant supports in maintaining and developing BFD’s relations with governorate-level authorities within the districts. He will liaise with relevant officials to ensure timely and effective approval of the project’s activities in the target governorate, as well as is responsible to keep relationships with the local authorities of the target districts. In addition to facilitating community communication with the project staff towards implementing the activities. |
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: |
- Assist in preparation of activities, and preparing the field needs of the project work team.
- Oversee and review all aspects of fieldwork on a daily basis in the field.
- Coordinate fieldwork for a project with local representatives’/community members and stakeholders in the target area.
- Overseeing all logistics requirements of the training and workshops in addition to the fieldwork plans of the project work team.
- Keep the forms documents, questionnaires safe and sound, ensuring they reach the main office on time.
- Follow-up of the field team’s working hours and attending in the worksites, and follow-up of attendance sheets of them by coordinates with HR assistant and ensuring they reach the main office on time.
- Coordination with the offices of the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training, in order to determine the FFT activities.
- Organizing coordination meetings with local authorities to define project activities, areas of intervention, identify target assets, livelihood activities, and distribute beneficiaries.
- Facilitate project staff’ access to the project’s target areas,
- Coordination with exchange offices and cash transfers, and preparing the necessary arrangements for cash distribution operations to beneficiaries
- Coordination with the local authorities’ offices, in order to prepare the initial BNFs lists, as well as coordination for the BNFs registration and verification, and the conduct of the basic and final assessment.
- Write a report summarizing all activities carried out in the field, achievements, difficulties as well as preparing the local authorities’ reports.
- Coordination and field communication with Local authorities and community leaders in the targeted areas, to ensure that all activities are implemented Without hindrances.
- Participation in the preliminary survey and the definition of the region, as well as the final survey of the target areas.
- Assist the community mobilizer, contributing to the selection of community communities in the target districts.
- Assist the community mobilizer, with facilitation/coordination of fieldwork and work to solve the problems facing the project team and raise these obstacles to the project officers periodically. In addition to. Resolve the administrative and logistics problems related to field activities.
- Supervising the progress of project activities and continuous follow-up to ensure that the activities are done well and smoothly and at a high level of quality.
- Communicate with the project officer on any issues and follow up on the progress of the project with him.
- Properly archiving the documents and correspondence of the project for easy reference upon request.
- Perform other duties/tasks determined by the line manager.

Requirements and Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree or a relevant field (humanitarian assistance and/ or development, economics, and management).
- 2-3 years’ experience from working in government relations for a humanitarian organization
- Experience in liaison and representation with senior-level authorities in the target districts.
- Knowledge of humanitarian coordination mechanisms, international NGO and UN mandates
- Demonstrated diplomatic communication skills with the ability to build a strong network with a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to absorb complex written and verbal information and communicate effectively.
- Ability to plan develop and deliver outreach talks, workshops, and coordination meetings to relevant stakeholders.
- His/her service may incorporate an “Out of hours” service. The post holder will need to fulfill listed duties as may be required of the service
- Ability to engage and influence government authorities and their departments to achieve results.
- Diplomatic communication and ability to build a strong network
- Strong analytical skills for identification of key issues
- Native Arabic speaker.
- Good computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet.

- Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding, child safety, and protection from sexual abuse and exploitation principles.
Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS): The role holder is required to carry out the duties in adherece to the Core Humanitarian Standards, the values and principles outlined in BFD’s policies such as Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Child Safeguarding, Anti Workplace Harassment, Fiscal Integrity, Anti-Retaliation and other internal policies and guidelines.
