GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION |
MAIN PURPOSE: The Pharmacist Assistant will support the daily operational management of all pharmacies and pharmacists’ activities related to project , and provide the technical support for pharmacists in targated HFs , ensure timely flow of information to and from filed, this position is also responsible to monitor and evaluate pharmacies in delivery according to project standard. |
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: |
- Guarantees the implementation and proper use (MOPH’s standards and project policy) of pharmacy management and monitoring tools (daily follow up form, order forms, etc.).
- Ensures that project pharmacies are organized and managed properly.
- Daily tracking of drugs and materials consumptions.
- Participates in the set-up of new pharmacies in the health facilities and defines how they should be run.
- Ensures the information flow the other members of the team concerning stock levels, pharmacy management and prescriptions.
- Oversees the monitoring of equipment with the logistics and finance teams.
- Ensure proper storage of drugs (especially the conditions of the temperature, humidity, light and safety) according to the procedures of BFD.
- Active in the daily/weekly collection of pharmacy tracking documents from the field (essential drugs tracking, consumption tracking).
- Monitor the drugs in order to anticipate nearly expired drugs, ensuring that expired/damaged items are properly stored in quarantine. Manages destruction of expired medicines in conformity with national procedures.
- Ensure that no shortage of medicines and supplies in the targeted health facilities from the available stock.
- Collection and Preparation of Monthly consumption and warehouse reports.
- Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians’ work flow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries.
- Managing stock movement (pin card, stock card, reports). And ensure that stores are maintained according to the drugs standards and protocol .in targeted HFs and MTs
- Collecting and submitting of weekly and monthly consumption report to project officer.
- Maintain appropriate inventory on pharmaceutical and medical supplies. In the targeted health facilities.
- Preparation of donation certificate, waybill for distribution of items to the targeted sites under supervision of project officer and manager.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Insure that, buffer stock of drugs, supplies are maintained and prepare the procurement request for needed items with coordinating with project officer and manager.
- Updating and entering the data to drugs management systems including ERP
- Accomplish any additional task related to this position and project.
- In collaboration with the medical and logistics team, ensures there is a supply process for medicines and medical material in the project that functions properly (procedures, etc.).
- Ensure receipt and quality control of drugs received and storage in accordance with BFD stock management procedures.
- Communicates regularly with the medical, logistics, HR and finance departments concerning medical supply
- Guarantees respect of BFD recommendations and information process in case of local purchase.
- Carry out field monitoring field visits into targeted project facilities.

Requirements and Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience with I/NGOs is preferred.
- Work experience in Health and Nutrition as emergency response projects is preferable.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information.
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- English and Arabic language skills, both written and spoken are desirable.
- Excellent computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and ERP system.
