GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION |
MAIN PURPOSE: Project Manager will be responsible for all emergency health and protection activities. He/she will be responsible for providing technical leadership, budget management, and the day-to-day management of the projects, including recruitment and reporting. The Project Manager will be based in Sana’a with regular field visits. The project manager will be responsible for liaison and coordination with the appropriate government authorities, donor and other agencies of interest. |
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: |
Project Management - Management of emergency health and protection interventions in the fields.
- Responsible for project planning, reporting, liaison, and budget management
- Develop work plans, recruitment plans, reporting mechanisms and training plans using the project monitoring tool.
- Work closely with the field teams to determine the operational needs of emergency health and protection interventions
- Track budget and manages Project activities according to the scope of the grant and budget
- Supervising on activities implementation and monitor and evaluate the objectives, indicators, and outcomes and ensure accurate and timely data collection at the field level
- Assist in the compilation of data for weekly, bi-weekly reports and quarterly reports with the M&E Officer and technical unit
- Work with field teams and logistics to procure Project supplies within Project budgets
- Liaise closely with local authorities, donor and partner agencies to ensure Project compliance with donor policies and regulations and complementary with other agencies’ efforts.
Technical - Provide technical guidance on the overall activities for project design and management
- Ensure that all project activities and training are both in line with donor standards and local government requirements
- Conduct and provide technical support on protection and health assessments
- Work closely with M&E to ensure activities are contributing towards project targets
- Attend cluster/coordination meetings relevant to the project
- Contribute to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organizations Code of Conduct, ethics, values, and stand-point about internal and external actors
Human Resources Management - In cooperation with HR, hire and supervise staff to ensure their smooth , effective operations and assist in the selection and training of qualified project .
- Maintain open lines of communications with all field staff
- Determine training needs for subordinate staff
- Train project staff to increase their responsibilities to build capacity and ensure the sustainability of project.
Conducts staff evaluations and advocates and plans for professional development for all staff. |
Requirements and Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine with diploma in related humanitrain field
- Have got training in Health compounent ,nutrition background and related protection activities (CMAM,IMCI-cas mangmante—GBv,…..)
- 4 years of experience in humanitrain field at least 3 years with I/NGOs
- Familiarity with humanitarian operations and coordination.
- Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations
- Creative and able to work with limited resources
- Team player and strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from the field and government
- Strong English language speaking and writing abilities
- Ability to interpret data, have a strong emphasis on project monitoring and conduct results-based programming
- Excellent computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and ERP system.

Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS): The role holder is required to carry out the duties in adherence to the Core Humanitarian Standards, the values, and principles outlined in BFD’s policies such as Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Child Safeguarding, Anti Workplace Harassment, Fiscal Integrity, Anti-Retaliation, and other internal policies and guidelines.
