GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION |
MAIN PURPOSE: He/She will be responsible to support the implementation of RH activities components of the project and ensuring that the quality standards are met. He will also ensure the overall strategic framework, technical support, guidance, and leadership for EmONC project |
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: |
- provide technical support and supervision to the field support and implementation team, including designing strategies to promote an integrated approach to reproductive and maternal health services.
- Provide technical support to project planning, needs assessment, and mobilization, financial planning and tracking, supervision of project staff, technical guidance, reporting and assessment of training needs.
- Actively participate in the task forces pertaining to reproductive, maternal, and newborn health programs, and in working groups delegated to implement and evaluate relevant activities
- Prepare and give technical presentations on key project activities and achievements as needed.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring annual workplans
- Collaborate in the Integrated Health Services to fully align enhanced reproductive, maternal, and newborn health program activities into the Project’s strategic objectives
- prepare and implement Reproductive health activity plans, under the guidance of the RH manager by ensuring that plans are up to date, understood by staff and monitored daily.
- Support partners with development of RH Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning systems/tools to monitor and evaluate impact and capture program performance and results.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting and updates on the RH portfolio and projects’ progress, challenges and lesson learnt.
- Ensure that the documentation of project achievements for communications materials such as the annual reports, brochures, and website are up to date.
- Ensure that all RH activities and trainings are both in line with global standards and ministry and local government requirements
- Identify when technical support is required (sectoral, logistics, finance, reporting, M&E, etc.)
- Provide hands-on training, capacity building, support, and feedback to staff.
- Ensure adherence to the principle and objectives of the project, BFD and donor policies.
- Support compliance and adherence by Project teams to policies and procedures, BFD and donor regulations, and monitoring mechanisms, which allow transparent and accountable implementation of projects.
- Carry out any other reasonable responsibilities as requested by the RH project manager

Experience and Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or its equivalent (Medical, Public Health,).
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience of RH.
- Technical expertise in the components of integrated Reproductive Health, quality improvement, and other selected RH/FP services
- Previous experience of supervising staff
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic; ability to communicate strategically under pressure.
- Excellent English Language Writing and reading.
- Excellent writer – the ability to develop high-quality reports and accurately analyze M&E data
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions quickly and independently
- Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations.
- Ability to relate to and effectively motivate staff
- Proficient in computer applications, especially with Word and Excel, PowerPoint.
