ABOUT Building Foundation for Development:
BFD is a non-governmental and non-profit Yemeni organization, that was established in 2014. BFD is a leading humanitarian-based and development-oriented organization, which over the years extended its coverage to several governorates, with a mission of working in a humane and transparent manner for the vulnerable groups in society and the affected groups through the implementation of sustainable development and relief programs of the highest quality. Responding to all areas of humanitarian sectors, BFD aspires to provide an integrated humanitarian and development response to conflict-affected areas through a professional, neutral, transparent approach, and through adherence to the Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS).
Contract Type: Full time Contract Duration: 3 Months renewable upon performance Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow up the work mechanism for the field staff in daily basis based on the planned cycle. Follow up the logistics operations and submitting to the Logistics manager. Ensures all forms and questionnaires are ready at start of day. Ensures all equipment/instruments are calibrated and ready at start of day Organizes briefing meeting with his/her team before departure in morning. Speak with chief of village to explain the survey and its objectives Draw a map of the area to be surveyed and use a random table Manages the household selection procedure and ensure that households are selected according to the pre-defined methodology Uses local events calendar to estimate the age if birth certificate/health card are not available Ensures that all the equipment is maintained in a good state Takes notes and report any problems encountered and prepare summary report each day. Prepare transport plan for the team and ensure appropriate formats for financial expenditures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor in social sciences or relevant discipline. At least 1 year of work experience in shelter or RRM related surveys Experience in working with NGOs Experience in conducting assessment surveys (SMART methodology) will be a plus, Kobo system.
