USAID Peace Support Project in Yemen: Building Community Capacities for Conflict Resolution and Climate Change
Building Foundation for Development (BFD), in collaboration with the Ark Group and funded by USAID, successfully concluded an introductory training workshop in Abyan Governorate, Yemen. This workshop is part of the broader USAID project to support peace in Yemen.
The workshop introduced members of the Community Council in Zinjibar District, Abyan Governorate, to essential concepts of community work and conflict resolution. The training focused on principles such as People for People, Gender, Inclusion, the principle of no harm, Negotiation and Reconciliation, and Conflict Sensitivity.
A select group of 13 participants from the Community Council received training on these fundamental principles. The goal is to equip them to conduct field visits, survey local conflicts, and develop mechanisms to adapt to climate change, addressing specific issues the district faces.
This activity is a significant step towards empowering local communities to manage conflicts and adapt to climate-related challenges effectively.
